Alan Coren

Dr. Coren is the founder and medical director of our practice. A 1980 graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, he earned Phi Zeta honors and has since dedicated his career to advancing veterinary care on Long Island. In 1982, he established our hospital, and under his leadership, it has grown into one of the region’s largest and most respected veterinary practices.

Dr. Coren is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the AVMA, NYSVMS, LIVMA, and AAHA. Known for his clinical excellence and unwavering commitment to patient care, he continues to guide our team with a focus on compassion, innovation, and integrity.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Coren is a passionate sailor, skier, mountaineer, and cyclist. He lives in Dix Hills with his wife, Karen, and enjoys visits from his granddog, Kobe.
