Our Approach to Anesthesia and Safety
We take every precaution to minimize risk and maximize comfort for your pet during anesthesia. Pre-operative evaluations, individualized anesthetic plans, and continuous monitoring help ensure each procedure is performed with the highest standards of safety and care.
Before Surgery: Exam and Evaluation
- Anesthetic protocols are individually tailored to your pet’s age, size and medical history
- Blood work is performed to assess liver, kidney and heart function
- Every patient undergoes a thorough physical exam and pre-surgical screening
Advanced Monitoring & Support
- Continuous multi-parameter monitoring before, during, and after surgery includes:
- Blood pressure
- Body temperature
- Heart rate and rhythm (ECG)
- Oxygen saturation
- Respiratory rate and ventilation
Pain Management: Comfort from Start to Finish
Our goal is to keep your pet as comfortable as possible, every step of the way.
- Pain relief begins before surgery and continues throughout recovery.
- We use a multi-modal approach to manage pain using low doses of different therapies and medications rather than a high dose of one single medication. This increases relief and lowers the chance of side effects.
After Surgery: Clear Communication and Ongoing Support
- We will call you after your pet’s procedure with a detailed update.
- At discharge, our team will carefully review aftercare instructions and answer any questions.
- We will call you within a few days after discharge to check on your pet.
