Whether you’re crossing state lines or heading overseas, we provide USDA-accredited health certificates and guidance on all required documentation.
Our Services Include:

- Physical examination
- Required vaccinations and parasite prevention
Tip: Plan early—some destinations require months of preparation.
If you are planning to travel outside the United States with your pet, you will need to meet specific health requirements before departure. Most countries require pets to be up to date on vaccinations, free of parasites, and microchipped—and you will need an international health certificate signed by an USDA-accredited veterinarian.
At West Hills Animal Hospital & Emergency Center, our veterinarians are accredited by the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to issue official international health certificates. We will help guide you through the process, making sure your pet meets all health and documentation requirements for entry into your destination country.
Plan Ahead
Requirements vary by country, and processing certificates can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. So, it is important to start early. As soon as you confirm your travel plans, call us to schedule a pre-travel health exam and begin the paperwork.
We also recommend reviewing the USDA APHIS Pet Travel Site to understand the specific documentation, treatments, and possible quarantine rules that apply to your destination.
